Along with forecasts of economic growth far outpacing western countries, this indicates the growing importance of India in the world economy.  In a sign that the Indian display market may likewise be growing in importance, global TV brands now plan to launch new models in India quickly following their global launches.  The CEO of Samsung South West Asia said "As global leader in colour televisions, we will be the first in deploying new categories of entertainment such as full high definition 3D TV for consumers in India as in other parts of the world." Sony also vowed to launch its 3D sets almost immediately following its global launch.  All of this shows that India has come a long way, with influence in global financial markets, while demand from Indian consumers ensures that TV companies will move to offer the latest products to Indian consumers. India may be the last big growth frontier for flat panel TVs.
